I am from Australia and just moved to Medan, Indonesia to be with my girlfriend who I met just before Christmas 2008. Most people skip over Medan on their way to see the orangutans in Bukit Lawang or to Lake Toba. It is not the most beautiful of cities, but it is not a bad place to spend some time as I am slowly discovering.

I started blogging in 2004 firstly about money and finances. I found blogging to be very therapeutic and enjoy getting people’s feedback on my ramblings. I quit my job in 2006 to concentrate on developing websites for profit and to travel.

In 2008, I spent around six months in China blogging the Beijing Olympics. The website was moderately successful, but the experience was a lot of fun and it was an amazing time to be in China.

I lived in Japan for 10 plus years and have now spent close to two years in China. Indonesia is a new challenge for me. I have started studying Bahasa Indonesia. I first traveled to Indonesia when I was 20 years old. I have been to Bali a couple of times, but only now am I realizing how little I know about this country.
